In 1989, as the Berlin Wall fell along with the Communist regime in Romania, new music flooded into the country introducing the young Klaws to the exciting sounds of acts like Kraftwerk and Depeche Mode. In the midst of this was an influential Romanian live electronic act named Suie Paparude. Barely a teenager Klaws witnessed this group wield their synthesizers over house and breakbeat rhythms at an underground venue on the shores of the Black Sea. From this moment Klaws lived and breathed electronic music, determined to follow in the footsteps of this groundbreaking band.

Klaws moved to Nice, France where he lived for several years, beginning a pivotal DJ residency at electronic music venue Le Ghost. He returned to Romania a seasoned DJ, bringing his now signature tech-house sound to the country’s clubs and festivals. A definite highlight was DJ’ing at the Synthplants EKZIT festival on the Danube River in 2004. It was at this festival that Klaws shared the bill with Suie Paparude, the band that inspired him to lead a life of music. Klaws had come full circle and his love of electronic music could only grow from here.

A year later Klaws found himself in the USA, one of twelve students selected to be part of the Red Bull Music Labs workshop in Greenville, South Carolina. Hosted by Lauren from Bassnectar, the lab instructed Klaws in the nuts and bolts of music production techniques and software such as Reason and Ableton Live. Soon Klaws had made his first released track which appeared on the Red Bull Music Labs compilation from 2005.

Now living in the USA, Klaws became a part of the Pangea Productions crew, an active promoter and DJ collective active throughout the southeast. Klaws co-organizes and participates in numerous music events as in the annual Welcome To Pangea festival earning him valuable experience in the world of event promotion. Klaws has begun to focus on his music production and is currently working on a slew of deep techno tracks, drawing inspirations such as gritty European film noir and the literary works of Kafka as well as tough, nightclub beats.
